Danié is a Mexican-American visual storyteller who is passionate for fashion as a reflection of the self. Creativity has been the only constant in her career, having worked as a TV host for Disney, a Copywriter and Digital Strategist at various advertising agencies in Mexico and Canada, a Marketing Director for a media publication in Sweden, and correspondent for Glamour Mexico and Latin America based in Miami, where she received a Fashion Group International Award for her work.
She braids her hair everyday as a Feminist Manifesto that resulted from her involvement in creating the first Mexican Delegation for the Women’s Forum for Economy and Society in France, presided by Salma Hayek.
She launched her line of scarves in October 2018, which she calls ‘Canvas’ given that this hair-accessory has given her the power to paint her own reality by having multiple alter-egos.
Among her most recent projects are ‘Once Upon a Canvas’, an interactive art installation that took place at Raw Pop-Up during Art Basel 2018 where she had mirror conversations with strangers as she braided their hair and explained how visual cues and daily-intentions have an immense power to shape self-perception.
She believes in community as the structure to re-engineer the world, and co-created alongside Martha Graeff and a very special group of influencers, ‘Fashion 4 Good’ a philanthropic venture that uses fashion to raise funds for projects with social impact.
She has worked with brands such as Chanel, Valentino, The Webster, Tory Burch, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alice and Olivia, Vizcaya, Isabel Marant, Citi Bank, and The Dalí Museum, and has been featured as a style icon in Elle USA, Allure, Nylon, W Magazine, Vogue México, In Style Latam, Miami Magazine, Indulge Magazine, the cover of Brickell Magazine, Racked and Who What Wear, among other media.
She also consults for brands who want to enter the Miami market. She has worked with Isabel Marant, Go Daddy and MasterCard Latin America and International among others.
Danié has been a panelist for Fashion Group International South Florida, Design District, RAW Residency, The Retreat, and has moderated conversations for The Future powered by MINI, Stitched Lab, Brickell City Centre, the founders of What Goes Around Comes Around, and has shared the stage with Taryn Toomey, Gabrielle Anwar, Patrick Duffy, Jenny Lopez, and Irma Martinez among others.
You can recognize her by her ‘Floridian Frida’ braid which she carries around as a feminist manifesto whenever she’s on a mission. Follow her journey through http://www.journeyofabraid.com or her Instagram, @journeyofabraid
