‘We are not a museum. We are real people.’ –Eufrosina Cruz Mendoza

This particular video is in Spanish, but you can add English subtitles. I urge you to spend time to listen to her story.  Eufrosina Cruz Mendoza is an indigenous woman who fled her village at the age of 11 to escape from child marriage. Her oldest sister was married at 12 years old. At 13, she was already a mother, and at 31, she had nine children.

Eufrosina who was born in a small province of Oaxaca, Mexico chose a different destiny and has been fighting incessantly for women’s rights.
